Reviews

Reader Reviews

This book captures the offshore experience like nothing else I've read. Whether you're a cadet preparing for your first hitch or a seasoned mariner reflecting on the life, Neslihan's writing brings the drillship to life. The bilingual format is a brilliant touch.

Mehmet Aksoy

Chief Officer, Transocean

I wish I'd had this book before my first rotation. The chapter on crew dynamics alone would have saved me weeks of awkward adjustment. Practical, honest, and full of the kind of advice that only comes from real experience at sea.

Sarah Lindström

Junior DPO, Solstad Offshore

As a maritime academy instructor, I've added this to my recommended reading list. The bilingual approach helps my Turkish students build technical English confidence while learning from a genuine role model in the field.

Prof. Oğuz Demir

Maritime Faculty, İstanbul Technical University

Neslihan doesn't romanticize offshore life — she tells it straight, with warmth and humour. The DP operations chapter is the clearest explanation I've ever read. This is essential reading for anyone considering a career at sea.

Marine Superintendent, Maersk Supply Service

Absolutely. While the author's background is in deck and DP operations, the majority of the book covers universal offshore topics: safety culture, crew dynamics, rotation life, weather awareness, and career development. Engineers, ETOs, and catering staff will all find value here.
